Dr Hong Duan originally graduated from Beijing Medical University, then spent several years working between the UK and humanitarian work as a Women's Health GP in a Refugee Camp. This was a challenging but professionally rewarding time in which she learnt advanced skills and the capacity to make do with minimal resources.

Dr Duan then moved to Auckland in New Zealand and obtained further qualifications in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a Diploma of Paediatrics from Auckland University. She has worked in General Practice since 2000 in Auckland, and moved to Brisbane for family reasons in 2019.
Dr Hong has a special interest in family medicine, women and children’s health care. Dr Duan is fluent in both Chinese and English 段医生精通中、英文
