Dr Robyn Shirlaw is a Brisbane local who completed her schooling at Somerville House before graduating with Honours in Medicine from The University of Queensland in 1988. Following hospital training at Townsville General Hospital and Redcliffe Hospital, she began her career in general practice.


Dr Shirlaw became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 1995. Throughout her career, she has made a significant contribution to medical education, mentoring medical students and junior doctors, and serving as the RACGP's Chief Examiner for Queensland for several years.


Some of the aspects of medicine she finds most rewarding includes: building meaningful, long-term relationships with patients and their families.


As an experienced Brisbane GP, Dr Shirlaw enjoys the diversity and challenges of general practice and values supporting patients through every stage of life. She particularly appreciates the continuity of care that general practice provides, with many families entrusting their healthcare to her across multiple generations.


Outside of medicine, Dr Shirlaw enjoys running, maintaining an active lifestyle, and spending time with her two adult children, one of whom is fellow Growlife Medical GP, Dr Tristan Shirlaw.
