Dr Clare Applegarth graduated from University of Queensland in 2012 and has worked in General Practice since 2016. Her career has spanned diverse clinical settings across Far North Queensland, the Torres Strait and Brisbane. Clare enjoys all aspects of General Practice and has particular interest in child health, women’s health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, and diabetes care. She holds the Diploma of Child Health, as well as the FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health.

Dr Chambers has worked in General Practice since 2006. He is passionate about family practice, including paediatrics and obstetric care. After completing his medical degree with honours at the University of Queensland, Dr Chambers served as an RAAF Doctor, conducting humanitarian missions and evacuating wounded servicemen from the Middle East. He also consults at our Sherwood and Highgate Hill clinics.

Dr Emma Fist enjoys all areas of general practice and has a particular interest in women’s health, including antenatal shared care and contraception. Emma is trained in the insertion and removal of contraceptive implants and hormone-releasing intrauterine devices (IUD). She also enjoys paediatric health and has completed a Diploma in Child Health through the University of Sydney. She also consults at our Highgate Hill clinic.

Dr Jill Howard is a caring and holistic GP who loves Family Medicine. Jill is aligned with the Mater Mother's Hospital for providing pregnancy shared care, and has a wealth of experience with care for young children. She also provides skin cancer checks and minor procedures, as well as thoughtful Geriatric Care. She also consults at our Sherwood clinic.

Dr Caleb Lee enjoys all aspects of general practice. His aim is to be a well-rounded doctor with a focus on patient-centred care. Dr Lee consults at our Oxley clinic.

Dr Leila McFerran is a long-time GP in Oxley and the Gailes area. She is committed to providing quality General Practice care to multiple generations of the families she cares for. She has particular skills in managing patients with multiple, complex conditions including diabetes, heart disease, chronic lung disease and thyroid disorders. She also consults at our Sherwood clinic.

Dr Anjni Mistri has a passion for providing high quality patient centred care. She enjoys all aspects of general practice with a special interest in preventive health, paediatrics and womens health. She has also completed further courses in sexual heath and child health, and is aligned with Mater Mothers Hospital to provide GP shared antenatal care. She also consults at our Sherwood clinic.

Dr Emma Scriven is enthusiastic about all aspects of general practice and has a broad range of experience in rural and metropolitan settings.  She has special interests in children’s health and women’s health. She is trained in contraceptive implant insertion and aligned with Mater Mothers Hospital to provide pregnancy shared care. As a mother of 3 young children, Dr Scriven knows the value of a trusted, caring GP and is keen to provide this for her patients.

Dr Anthony (Tony) Turner is a Queensland trained medical practitioner with over 30 years’ experience in general practice.  He enjoys all aspects of family general practice and has a special interest in sports and musculoskeletal medicine, aerospace medicine, men's health, adult medicine and minor skin surgery.  Tony has a Masters in Sports Medicine from UNSW and is also a qualified CASA DAME.

Dr Daniel Varma graduated from Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, having previously completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Griffith University Gold Coast. In 2022 Daniel completed his fellowship in General Practice. Daniel’s main interest in General Practice is managing patients with Musculoskeletal and Internal medicine problems. Daniel has roles working as Team Doctor with both the men and women Brisbane Roar A-League and W-League football sides.  Daniel also consults at our Highgate Hill clinic.

Dr Sindhu Vasudevan worked at Canossa Hospital & Aged Care after moving from Tasmania with her husband and young children. She is much loved by the Canossa community. Sindhu has a very thorough and caring approach to General Practice, and her diploma of child health and own experiences of bringing up children give her an ability to manage a wide range of paediatric presentations. She also consults at our Sherwood clinic.

Dr Yacoubis a general and community paediatrician who has been practicing in Australia for over 10 years. She did her general paediatric training in Queensland. Dr Yacoub deals with different paediatric presentations on a regular basis, from assessing growth and development of the newborn and preschool children; managing acute and chronic conditions; to assisting in managing a large proportion of developmental and behavioural presentations like ASD, ADHD, Anxiety and childhood trauma in children up to 18 years of age.

Dr Gautam Ramnath is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist practicing in Brisbane since 2007. His special interests include investigation of anaemia, complex presentations, inflammatory bowel disease and liver disease. He works closely with our GPs at Oxley , and provides endoscopy and colonoscopy from Canossa Day Surgery . 

Sam Foster is a kind and caring Midwife and Lactation Consultant experienced in all areas of pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period including lactation and infant feeding. She qualified as a Midwife in the UK in 1997 and worked in the community and the hospital until she emigrated to Brisbane in 2011. Sam was delighted to certify as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2012 and has enjoyed working in both rural and tertiary referral hospitals in Queensland in a Midwifery and Lactation Consultant capacity. She is able to provide comprehensive assessments of lactation and breastfeeding which includes full oral assessments for suspected tongue ties. Her passion is in ensuring parents are provided with the skills and knowledge to feel empowered to achieve their feeding goals and providing individualised patient-focused care.

Sam sees patients for in-clinic appointments at our Fairfield clinic, home visits within 15km of the four clinics and also offers telehealth consultations
