What is Music Therapy?
For those seeking additional support for disability or mental well-being, Registered Music Therapist Amy Cooper, facilitates individual music therapy appointments at our Sherwood practice. Amy has appointments available for those with plan-managed or self-managed NDIS funding. No previous experience with music is required to participate in a music therapy program.

Music therapy can assist adults seeking to address:

- Anxiety and depression
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Chronic pain
- Social and communication challenges
- Emotional regulation
- Brain injury or stroke

Appointments for Music Therapy
Music Therapy sessions include:
- Singing
- Song writing
- Playing instruments – guitar, ukulele, and percussion
- Lyric and music analysis
- Developing playlists
- Music for relaxation
Types of Appointments Available:
- 30-minute initial phone consultation
- 60-minute assessment session
- 30,45, and 60-minute appointments
Please note: if you are unable to access NDIS funding, non-NDIS fees are available.
All appointments include an individualised program tailored to the needs of the patient, the use of high-quality instruments, song writing and recording equipment, and assistance with finding suitable resources.
