Every child learns differently and at their own pace. Some kids need a little extra support when it comes to reading and spelling, and that’s perfectly okay. At Growlife, we believe every child should have the opportunity to build their literacy skills in a supportive, encouraging environment. That’s why we’ve created Word Wizards.
Developed by our experienced Growlife Speech Pathologist, Naomi, Word Wizards is designed to support children who may benefit from additional support as they learn to read and spell. Naomi offers her expertise at our
Sinnamon Park clinic.
What is Word Wizards?
Word Wizards is built on the evidence-based Sounds-Write Phonics approach,
which helps children recognise and manipulate sounds in words, essential skills
for both reading and spelling success.
We offer two levels of classes:
- Beginner Classes (Usually taught in Prep)
- Extended Classes (Usually taught in Years 1–2)
(To enrol in the extended class, children should be confident in spelling simple
words like “dad,” “pat,” or “hen.”)
What Will Your Child Learn?
Through fun and structured sessions, students will:
- Break down words into sounds to improve reading fluency
- Use phonics knowledge to spell with confidence
- Choose and read books independently, building confidence and enjoyment
- Apply literacy skills to writing, vocabulary development, and comprehension tasks
Child Literacy Skills Program Details
Classes run by the school term.
New Clients (no referral) $44 per class (includes GST)
Existing clients & new with referral / NDIS $40 per class (no GST)
NDIS can be claimed if communication and/or social skills building are a part of the individual's plan.
